Visiting Paris with an e-cigarette: what you need to know
Visiting Paris and vaping? Here are the main rules to know in France, so you can buy your e-liquids and vape without any bad surprises.
What you will find in France
- Nicotine capped at 20 mg/mL. E-liquids containing nicotine do not exceed this strength. If you usually use higher strengths, ask for advice in a shop. See our guide to nicotine strength.
- Nicotine bottles of 10 mL maximum. Larger bottles (50 mL) are sold without nicotine, with boosters to add. See how it works.
- No disposable e-cigarettes. They have been banned from sale in France since 26 February 2025. Only rechargeable products are available.
- Products reserved for adults. Age verification may be requested.
Where can you vape?
Vaping is banned in some places, such as enclosed public transport and schools. When in doubt, follow the signs and the instructions on site. Our French-language guide where is vaping banned in France? gives more detail.
Traveling with your equipment
Before flying, check with your airline: rules on batteries and liquids vary. To maintain and charge your equipment, see our guide on charging an e-cigarette properly (in French).
